The De Ville was first introduced in the 1960s. Back then, Omega released the "Seamaster De Ville" model, a clever ploy to introduce the De Ville by utilizing the iconic Seamaster name in order to gain quick traction. By 1967, the De Ville became a standalone product line and had its own series of varying models. The brand's aim for the De Ville is to create simple yet elegant dress watches, which, back then, is a refreshing alternative to the sporty designs of Seamasters and Speedmasters.
