So, he traveled across the Atlantic to Switzerland, landing in Schaffhausen—a small town in the Rhine Valley that would become synonymous with horological excellence.
Jones wasn’t just building watches; he was building an empire. International Watch Company (IWC) was born with the goal of producing high-quality pocket watches for the American market. But what started as an American dream quickly evolved into a global phenomenon.
While many Swiss brands leaned into loud designs and flair, IWC chose a different route—one defined by functionality, precision, and clean design.
