2000s Cartier Ronde Louis 18K Gold w/ Factory Diamonds (Box)

The brand built its identity on breaking away from traditional round cases—think the Cartier Tank, Cartier Santos, and Cartier Crash—so when Cartier decides to make a round watch, it has to feel distinctly Cartier. The Ronde Louis Cartier ref. WR000251 does exactly that.

At first glance, it appears simple: a clean round case, Roman numerals, blued hands. But the details quickly separate it from every other conventional dress watch. This example features a 29mm 18k white gold case, paired with a factory diamond-set bezel that adds just enough extravagance without becoming gaudy. Cartier understood that diamonds work best when they feel effortless—not forced.

The dial is classic Cartier. Roman numerals, blued steel hands, railroad minute track—all familiar cues that have defined the maison for over a century. Even in a round case, there’s no mistaking who made this watch.

And then there’s the movement: quartz. Purists may complain, but they’re missing the point. The quartz caliber allows this watch to maintain its incredibly slim profile while delivering exactly what a dress watch should—grab-and-go convenience.
