Cartier is one of the few brands that got it right early—and then spent the next hundred years making only the changes that mattered. The Santos Galbée is the perfect example.

The core of the design is still here: the squared case, exposed screws, silver dial with black Roman numerals, and blued sword hands. These are the pillars of the Santos, and they haven’t moved. What has changed over time are the details—proportions refined, edges softened, bracelets improved—small adjustments that make the watch feel contemporary without losing its identity.

At 29mm, the Santos Galbée wears larger than expected. The case shape and pronounced lugs give it presence well beyond the spec sheet, making it comfortable and confident on a wide range of wrists. It’s elegant, but not precious. Classic, without feeling dated.
