2009 Tag Heuer Monaco "Gulf"

The Monaco is already iconic, but this particular piece takes it an extra step further.

The reference CAW2113 takes the signature Monaco design and pushes it even further by combining with one of the greatest motorsport liveries of all time: Gulf Racing.

The grey dial paired with the light blue and orange racing stripes gives the watch incredible energy without becoming cartoonish. It immediately calls back to the golden era of endurance racing, Steve McQueen, and the Ford GT40s that made Gulf colors legendary in motorsport culture.

Importantly, TAG Heuer resisted overdoing it. The color accents are balanced beautifully against the monochromatic dial and brushed steel case, keeping the watch wearable despite how visually recognizable it is.

Notably, this watch is No. 235 of just 2,500 pieces produced, comes complete with its original Gulf packaging and special edition booklet.
