The Explorer II Ref. 216570 is a no-nonsense, GMT-equipped sports watch built with pure function in mind. More importantly, it represents the moment the Explorer II was decisively pulled into the modern era, replacing the slimmer 16570 with something bolder, tougher, and far more contemporary.

At 42mm, the stainless steel case is robust, paired with a solid Oyster bracelet and the signature fixed 24-hour bezel that defines the model.

The dial has also been updated for today’s standards. The Ref. 216570 introduced a full Maxi-dial execution to the Explorer II, with oversized hands and hour markers that substantially improve legibility. Strategic use of contrast—both in color and texture—adds depth without clutter, 100% reinforcing it as a tool watch.
