Omega De Ville Prestige "Jump Hour"

Ever heard of an Omega Jump Hour watch? Well, now you have! Introduced in the late 1990s, the unique jump hour function, together with its uncommon salmon dial, was.. not a success. It didn’t fly off the shelf like other models such as the Constellation and Speedmaster, which prompted Omega to halt production, resulting in a very low quantity for the Jump Hour model. Some say it was only manufactured and subsequently discontinued in 1998, but some serial numbers suggests that it was still produced in 1999 up until 2001. One thing is for sure though: this is a hidden gem in the world of watches.

First off, what is a jump hour watch? Notice the white window below 12 o’clock? It indicates the current hour, while the single hand represents the minute, so the time reads as 9:06. Once the minute hand makes a full 60-minute rotation and points back to 12, the number on the window swiftly changes, hence the term jump hour.

Rumor has it that only 3,000 pieces were ever made. Since it’s the only known Jump Hour model ever produced by Omega, collectors and enthusiasts extensively hunt for it as they come to the knowledge of how unique, quirky, and scarce this piece is.
