Certainly, the renowned "Professional" series of Speedmasters stands out as OMEGA's most popular line of chronographs today. Despite common belief, not every Speedmaster is a Moonwatch. OMEGA has, for many years, offered a diverse range of variations on the classic chronograph design, including heritage models, moon phases, digital versions, and even bejeweled styles.

One distinctive departure from the typical professional line is the Speedmaster Date, a unique and loosely connected series that gained popularity around the turn of the century and the subsequent decade. An example of this is the ref. 3511.80.00.

The watch maintains the recognizable Speedmaster feel on the wrist, featuring signature twisted lugs and multi-finishing, but with a width of 38mm. Unlike the classic Moonwatch, this model is equipped with an automatic movement, and it boasts numerous distinctive details. The highly polished tachymeter bezel enhances the watch's visual proportions significantly. On the sunray blue dial, there are additional unique features, including the date aperture at three o'clock. The trio of sub-registers is arranged vertically closer to the edge of the dial, with white printing across the entire face, subtly contributing to a sense of familiarity with the Speedmaster. Similarly, classic slim white pencil hands make a distinctive appearance for the hours and minutes.
